Counsellor
Maja Djurdjevic-Vogelaar – Registered Counsellor ABvC® & Social Psychologist
At PSY AID Amsterdam, I provide a safe and supportive environment where you can gain insight, restore balance, and find direction in your life. Trust and respect form the foundation of our collaboration.
Fascinated by the human mind and the question of why people think, feel, and behave the way they do, I pursued a degree in Psychology at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), followed by a Master’s degree in Psychology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). My curiosity and genuine desire to help others led me to specialize further in counselling. I completed a higher professional education (HBO) program in Counselling Psychology at Stichting Counselling Nederland, and expanded my expertise in therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Positive Health, and Motivational Interviewing.
I take a strengths-based approach, working together with you to identify what supports and empowers you—such as motivation, resilience, and meaningful connections—so you can move forward in a sustainable and fulfilling way. My practice combines evidence-based methods with personalized guidance, ensuring that therapy is both effective and tailored to your needs.
To maintain a high standard of care, I regularly participate in continuing education, intervision, and supervision, ensuring that my knowledge and skills remain up to date.
